Our History

In the 1800’s San Antonio attorney Lewis Florea began buying shares of stock in the Annandale Land and Cattle Company. By the end of the decade, he had bought out the other shareholders and continued to expand the ranch. Much of the property was purchased for 50 cents an acre at the courthouse auctions of Confederate land grants.
Today fourth and sixth generation family members- the Cofers, Chapmans and McQuowns – own and manage the 10,000 acre property located in Uvalde County, just south of Concan, Texas.

Today the ranch operates as a cattle, sheep and goat operation, also generating income through hunting leases and specialized eco-tourism opportunities which offer limited public access to parts of the property for birding and bat viewing.
